Vision
Vision of SEDAD
(Socio Economic Development Association for Disable)
The Socio Economic Development Association for Disable (SEDAD) envisions a just, inclusive, and equitable society where persons with disabilities enjoy equal rights, opportunities, and dignity as active members of the community. SEDAD’s vision reflects its deep commitment to social justice, human rights, and the sustainable development of all people, regardless of physical or mental ability.
In a country like Bangladesh—where poverty, social stigma, and lack of access continue to marginalize people with disabilities—SEDAD’s vision stands as a beacon of hope and transformation. The organization believes that every individual, regardless of disability, has the potential to contribute meaningfully to society if provided with the right support, inclusion, and opportunities.
Core Vision Statement
“To build an inclusive and empowered society where persons with disabilities live with dignity, independence, and equal participation in all spheres of life.”
Guiding Principles of the Vision
- Inclusion and Equality:
Ensure that persons with disabilities are fully integrated into all aspects of community life—socially, economically, and politically. - Empowerment through Opportunity:
Promote access to education, employment, and entrepreneurship so that persons with disabilities can achieve self-reliance and leadership. - Respect for Human Dignity:
Uphold the inherent worth of every person and advocate for a society free from discrimination and prejudice. - Participation and Partnership:
Encourage collaborative efforts among government, civil society, and international partners to promote inclusion and accessibility. - Sustainable Development:
Align all initiatives with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those focused on equality, education, and economic growth.
Vision in Action
SEDAD works tirelessly to turn this vision into reality by creating pathways for education, training, advocacy, and empowerment. Through its inclusive programs—such as disability development, women’s empowerment, autism care, and vocational training—SEDAD aims to foster self-confidence, independence, and community participation among persons with disabilities.
